The Yashicaflex range of cameras were marketed in parallel to the Yashica range of TLR cameras. It is getting harder to find Yashicas and Yashicaflexes in acceptable condition so good examples should be treasured.
This is a Yashicaflex Model C from around 1955 onwards of which 101,431 were made. It has bayonet mounts and an extended film door locking arm which helps prevent the camera tipping forward, and of course the Tri-Lauser f/3.5 taking lens and Yashikor f/3.5 viewing lens. It features auto film stop, a Copal B 1-300 shutter and all the speeds (except B) are working as is the self-timer. I'm beginning to think the issue with the Bulb (B) setting is endemic to this type of shutter as I have noticed the same problem on other cameras. This is a stunning example as you can see from the photos.
The focus is smooth as is the operation of the waist level finder and pop-up magnifier.
