The Yashicaflex S was released in 1954. It was remarkable at the time as being the first Japanese camera with a built-in selenium meter.
This example has Yashimar f/3.5 80mm lenses in a Copal shutter B 10 to 1/200th shutter. This is an extraordinarily nice example with no dents, dings or knocks. The leatherette is fully intact with no tears, splits or shrinkage. The focus is smooth as creme brûlée as is the operation of the waist level finder and pop-up magnifier. The shutter is working nicely on all speeds but I can't attest to how accurate it is.It's exceedingly rare to find selenium cells for the meter still operating after 66 years but this one IS still reacting to light, though I can't guarantee its accuracy; most photographers today would either use an external light meter or get a free light meter APP for their smartphone.
