A CLASSIC MAMIYA C330 S WITH 80mm LENS. I used a C330 S for many many years in my life as a professional portrait and wedding photographer. My Mamiya photographed well in excess of a thousa. Nd weddings and countless portraits; over a 20 year period it never faltered, even though it received some pretty rough treatment, enduring the o. Dd knock, drop and several rain storms.

I hasten to add that the camera on offer is not mine. This one is part of The DS Collection and has not seen serious action for many a year. The C330 S is such an iconic piece of beautiful engineering. It has the classic waist level design with a large clear viewfinder.

OK, at first it's a little off-putting because the image you view is back to front. That's all part of its appeal, you quickly get used to it. The Mamiya C330 S, even though it is a big camera, feels so very comfortable in the hand. I only ever loaded 120 film in mine, that meant only twelve shots before a film reload (it'll also take 220 film, doubling the number of frames). Those twelve shots were precious; the C330 S wasn't a snap-shooter.

It was a precision tool of the trade. THE MAMIYA C330 S IS THE STANDOUT CAMERA OF ALL TIME. There's never been a camera to compare with the C330 S; it has an aura of professionalism, imposing in stature and yet so very user friendly. It's a fully manual camera with no distracting bells or whistles. Stood the test against its more illustrious, more expensive rivals, such as Bronica, Rollei and Hasselblad. I've handled some of the most renowned medium format gems ever produced but, when the chips were down, the C330 S was always my go-to most trusted instrument of choice.

The fact that it is a fully manual camera means it's.. And therein lies its appeal: the best way to get to grips with.

Is to use a fully manual camera. A camera that puts control in your hands. No digital, mystical wizardry; no inaccurate autofocus; no automatic'iffy' reflective light readings. The C330 S relies upon your input skills; you become the master and not the slave!

Not only is this a wonderful student camera, it is also a very much sought-after collectors' piece. T's just such a treat to handle ; truly one of the seven camera wonders of the world. A MUST HAVE COLLECTIBLE INVESTMENT. Why not use it and collect it? Become a'proper' photographer and an investor at the same time! The C330 S will only keep increasing in price: collectors very rarely sell them. The law of supply and demand dictate that this classic Mamiya is a sure-fire investment.

DS Collection and hasn't seen action for many many years. It's not mint and does display some minor chips and scuffs. The photos, hopefully give a fair representation of its'very good' condition. The interior is exceptionally clean. The casing does have a few minor signs of wear. Nothing to get excited about. The'spring-open' viewfinder mechanism works as it should, if not better. The viewfinder optics are in excellent condition.

The mechanisms all work: smooth focus, effective lens release etc. The wind-on mechanism does have a point of slight. Resistance in its 360% rotation.

I would describe as'noticeable' but neither annoying nor debilitating. Clean, light tight, free moving and unblemished. Mamiya-Sekor 80mm 2.8 lens. This is a really good portrait lens.

The optics on the objective lens are very good, inevitably a few dust-like markings but nothing horrendous. The viewing lens is less dust-free but nevertheless still in good nick; a clear view assured. The body is also in good condition, only a few minor marks of wear. Overall condition - very good. COMES WITH A RARE ORIGINAL MAMIYA C330 INSTRUCTION MANUAL. The booklet seems to have been water-damaged at some time so is far from mint. However, it is still legible and a valuable. You'll no doubt have noted that the instruction manual is for the C330 and not the C330S. Truth is, the cameras are virtually identical in operation, only minor changes were made to the newer C330S. Also comes with lens front and back caps and a very strange short'neck strap' - I would describe it more as a'hand-strap'. If you can get it around your neck then your are in danger of choking! Another classic from The DS Collection!
